Canoeing the Credit

This morning me and my Brother embarked on a trip up the Credit River. We paddled up from Port Credit up to the Mississauga Golf Course and back down again. In total we paddled about 8km or so. What a great way to start the long weekend Sunday.

Lake Ontario Thunderstorm

On the night of August 14, 2015 a thunderstorm rolled thru and I decided to try my hand at lightning photography. This was my best result before the battery on my camera died on me. That night I learned two lessons; first, lower ISO and longer exposure would give a better less noisy shot; second, KEEP YOUR BATTERIES CHARGED!

Milky Way over Lake Ontario

Last night I decided to go for a walk before going to bed. Naturally I brought my camera along to take some pictures of the night sky over the lake. Even with the heavy haze and light pollution from both The Golden Horseshoe and Rochester,NY, I got some pleasing results.

Settings and Processing: 18mm f3.5 3min45sec total stacked from 15x 15sec at 1600ISO and 2 dark frames, stacked with DeepSkyStacker 3.3.2, processed in RawTherapee 4.2.238 and Gimp 2.8.
